Krakow tram tickets are part of the city’s unified KMK ticket system. There is no separate tariff only for trams: the same Komunikacja Miejska w Krakowie (KMK) tickets cover Krakow’s trams and city buses. The right ticket depends mainly on your journey length, planned changes, travel zones and whether you use an agglomeration bus or a Koleje Małopolskie train.
How much do Krakow public transport tickets cost?
The current KMK tariff applies from 2 March 2026. A single-journey ticket for one passenger costs 6 zł at the normal rate or 3 zł at the reduced rate. It can be used until the end of the vehicle’s route or for up to 30 minutes with changes, depending on the conditions of the ticket.

Which ticket should you choose?
For a short journey, the 6 zł single-journey ticket is usually the simplest option. It is also useful when your route includes a change within the 30-minute period. Remember that the ticket is for one person, so each passenger needs a separate ticket.
A 24-hour ticket can make more sense if you expect several journeys during the same day. The normal fare is 20 zł in Zone I and 25 zł for Zones I+II+III. The wider option is relevant when your itinerary goes beyond Krakow’s municipal area or uses routes serving surrounding municipalities.
What are Krakow’s public transport zones?
Zone I covers the Municipality of Krakow. Zones II and III cover designated municipalities outside the city. The zone shown on a ticket must match the route you are taking, particularly when using an agglomeration bus.
Several routes serving Krakow Airport are officially classified as agglomeration lines, including bus lines 209, 300 and 902. They are not automatically treated as ordinary city-only routes for ticket purposes, so check that your ticket covers the required zones before boarding.

How is Krakow Airport different from Krakow city transport?
The bus journey from Krakow Airport and the train journey to the city use different arrangements. Buses 209, 300 and 902 operate within the KMK system as agglomeration lines, while the Kraków Airport-Kraków Główny train has a separate Koleje Małopolskie tariff. The officially stated single fare for that train is 20 zł.
The 70-minute KMK+KMŁ ticket costs 10 zł normal or 5 zł reduced and combines KMK travel in Zones I+II+III with selected Koleje Małopolskie sections. However, it does not include Kraków Lotnisko station. It therefore cannot be used as a replacement for the separate airport train ticket.
Where can you buy Krakow tram tickets?
Visitors can buy KMK tickets through official ticket machines, selected sales points and supported mobile applications. Availability of a particular ticket type can differ between apps, so check the product shown before paying.
Ticket machines inside vehicles sell tickets for validation. Following the machine updates introduced in November 2025, they do not support buying or recording season tickets on KMK cards. The available payment method depends on the markings on the specific machine, so check the device before starting the transaction.
